The Kursk Incursion, Seen from the Dâmbovița
Again on the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk. And on its foreseeable effects upon politics on the Dâmbovița.
The foreseeable has happened: the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk has bogged down and is on the way to becoming a failure of some magnitude. As I said, from a tactical point of view this move was and is an absolute folly: immense losses and zero effect.
In reality there are several effects. Some of them unsuspected.
First, every military analyst expects a Russian reaction of unprecedented virulence — a fact that confirms my banal prediction that the war will become total. Kiev is expected to be massively bombarded, including the parliament and the government buildings, “inexplicably” untouched by the Russians since the beginning of the “special military operation”.
The second effect, in the medium term, will be that Russia will without doubt force its entry into Odessa, and also into the Ukrainian oblasts immediately neighbouring the Kursk region: Sumy and Kharkiv.
I have already told you: it will be total war.
A third effect, in the short, medium and long term: Romania becomes the country with the largest and most important NATO base in the world, the one at Mihail Kogălniceanu. And so we too shall “appear on the map”, putting ourselves directly in the Russians’ sights. And the terrorists’ too.
And all of this will have direct and wholly foreseeable effects upon politics on the Dâmbovița: the elections will be won precisely and only by those who must win them — the stability and predictability of a country under military occupation imperatively require it.
By whom, exactly? That I do not know. I suspect, but I do not know for certain. What I am certain of is that only the System’s “chosen ones” will reach the final round.
Who are the System’s “chosen ones”? That I do not know either. But we shall all see them before long.
To believe otherwise would mean still believing the story of “democracy”, of “the power of the people” and of “the importance of the vote”.
But everything that has happened these last twenty years, and especially these last four, has cured me of any enthusiasm, of any trace of confidence — not to say credulity — in the tales that have been forced down our throats for years.
You do not believe me? You still believe you can choose, that the elected represent you and that your choices are respected? Look at the United States and you will understand everything: look at Biden, at Kamala, and you will grasp how much the vote counts in the “greatest democracy” in the world… and above all you will understand that it is not the “elected” who govern, but those who elect them… and who place them before us, the people, the voters, on the ballot papers.
Postscript: my apologies to the useful enthusiasts who still believe — or still wish to make us believe — in tales of providential men and providential women… I, for one, can no longer hope… except in Him who is on high.
