On Swindlers, Frauds and… the Great Reset
I have always wondered how swindlers feel and how they can do what they do with such ease, without any regret, without any remorse. In my more than 20 years in the profession of advocate I have met many specimens of human filth — fraudsters by nature or merely out of opportunity, some more gifted, others merely well drilled in wickedness. But, I confess, only by living through the “pandemic” experience of the last 2 years, in which I observed how the great sharks of swindling operate at the global level, and the little sanitary fish around them who operate locally, have I managed to sketch out for myself a few of the mental and behavioural mechanisms of swindlers.
Opportunism — “No opportunity must be missed”. A swindler is always alert, always “on the ball” and speculative. Any situation becomes an opportunity to sting a “sucker”. It does not matter in what general or particular context the opportunity arises: summer or winter, in time of peace or war, whether you are at a ball or in hospital, at church or at the casino, at school or at the brothel… anywhere you may become the “swindler’s” client! The swindler is there. He waits to help you, even and above all if you do not ask for it! He helps you when you are in need, being ready at any moment to do you a “good turn”!
Equal treatment of the “client”: equality of opportunity — “Every client is welcome and is promptly served”. A swindler will never neglect any client of his. NEVER! Colour, age, sex, nationality, faith or sexual orientation do not matter… every client is welcome. He will not choose among his clients, and will not disadvantage some in favour of others. By no means! All clients are treated with the same attention. It does not matter that the prospective client is known to him, a brother or a friend. The swindler will apply the same treatment to all without discrimination, even if those close to him may at some point call this “non-discrimination” betrayal. The swindler’s professional ethics and deontology do not permit him to lose or neglect a client!
The “spirit” of competition — If it is not I, it will be another! A true swindler will refuse no client on moral grounds. It does not matter that the client in question is a widow, has 9 children or has one foot in the grave. The swindler knows that if he does not serve (this time the word really fits) the client, another “servant” will at once be found to do his job. The market is full of those offering “good” or “better”, so that the swindler will never leave any “fear”, any real or imagined “need”, any “greed” fully unsatisfied!
The quality and constancy of the services: once the client is “won”, he is always well served. To the very end. And most of the time the client is very pleased with the services received. To the very end, until he catches on — but then it is too late. Yet until the end the client is never neglected. Never! He is given the whole attention. Day by day, second by second. The client, the victim, is always at the centre of the swindler’s attention, who does everything in his power to satisfy his needs. For his own good! Only for his own good.
The “spirit” of innovation: a truly gifted swindler will not merely speculate upon existing fears and needs. Those are the street-corner hacks! Nooo… The Great Masters of Swindling develop new ones for you and then make you dependent on them. New needs, new fears, new greeds, new dependencies… That is the “royal” art of swindling! For instance, the client does not even know that he needs a house 500 square metres bigger… or a telephone he will never know how to use to even 30% of its capacity… or some masks that help nobody and protect against nothing… or a “development” loan! Or a “safety net”! Or some substances to inject himself with periodically… Swindling, at whatever level, becomes “sublime” only when it offers you a “good” you did not even know you needed… but without which you can no longer live!
The countenance. The swindler will always have the face suited to the place, the moment and the job. First of all the swindler will always seem a respectable and trustworthy man. Otherwise he would not be a swindler but a robber. Then the swindler will always give the appearance of a first-rate specialist in anything; he can be anything: an aeroplane pilot, a financial expert, a lawyer or even a doctor. It does not matter that he never finished any university, so long as he “invented” programmes and windows, and so long as, years ago, he realised what we should need and what can “save” us right now! Or, where he can actually justify by documents the appearances of his profession, he will suddenly become a great specialist. It does not matter that since finishing medicine he has never set foot in a hospital, or that if he did he entered in order to carry out a “check” or to “supply” some equipment. Names… I do not know, none come to mind just now! But you, surely, could name many!
The story. A swindler will always know what to say to the client. You know it already from the brilliant “Filantropica”: “The outstretched hand that tells no story receives nothing.” But not just any story is told by a swindler. Rather THE story that is needed! He will divine perfectly what the client needs to hear. And he will say it to him! The story is credible and necessary in the client’s situation. It always comes as the crowning of the client’s expectations or pressing needs. The client’s child has died — no matter! We communicate with the child through spiritualism. In fact the child has not gone at all, you simply no longer see him… You are in the terminal stage of cancer? A trifle. You are given a cabbage broth that “takes it all away with the hand”! You are living through a pandemic period? It is solved: we make some sera that do not immunise, do not prevent transmission, that give adverse effects more certain and more numerous than the beneficial ones… but it does not matter. It is for your own good, client!
The swindler is nearly always sharp (if not indeed intelligent or brilliant) and charming, captivating. Sometimes even physically handsome, but always cynical, sociopathic and, in the end, sarcastic. It is the swindler (the traitor) and not the murderer who bears in this world the twisted face of the Adversary. That is why the Adversary is above all “the cunning one” and not “the evil one”, for wickedness is visible and repellent. Cunning is not. For cunning is barely perceptible. That is why it is “the cunning one” who leads into temptation, and not the evil one.
The swindler is the adversary of the Truth and the father of the lie, of disinformation, of “virtual reality” and “artificial intelligence”.
The swindler is the archetype, the builder and the ruler of today’s world.
Any connection between what is said above and more or less public persons is, of course, accidental.
In closing I shall tell you only that in the Criminal Code “The misleading of a person by presenting a false fact as true or a true fact as false, for the purpose of obtaining for oneself or for another an unjust patrimonial benefit, and if damage has been caused” is called “Deception”.
If instead of the word “person” you put the word “worlds”… that is no longer called “Deception”, but “the Great Reset”.
