Professor Caumes Causes an Earthquake

“The French professor Eric Caumes has caused an earthquake in the medical world by stating, a few days ago, that he had never seen so many adverse effects with a vaccine as with the one produced by Pfizer. A vaccine that has already begun to be distributed in Great Britain and is scheduled to be distributed on a large scale in France from January, writes LifesiteNews.

Caumes, head of the infectious-diseases department at the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris, is not one of the doctors labelled “against the current”, having pronounced himself in favour of all the restrictions and of the second lockdown. He said there is a risk of a “third wave” of infections if people do not observe the rules and do not keep their distance, especially at Christmas.

He also declared that he would be vaccinated against COVID-19 so long as it is not an “RNA” vaccine such as the one now being distributed in the United Kingdom. The “RNA” vaccines are expected to enter France in January.

But Caumes expressed his concern about these vaccines. In an interview with Le Parisien he complained of the lack of available scientific data on their results and side effects, saying he would never blindly trust the vaccine industry merely on the strength of the press releases the companies issue. “Reading the 53 pages, something struck me. I have never seen such a high frequency of side effects for a vaccine! Apart from the minimal reactions due to the injection, such as local redness and pain, other undesirable effects are identified at relatively high rates, especially in the young, after the second dose. Take the example of fever: it may appear temporarily after an injection, that is classic. But there, 15.8% of those aged between 18 and 55 had 38°C or more within seven days of the second injection. And 45% had to take medicine for fever or pain. We are also speaking of 55% headaches, 62% fatigue. It cannot be, that is too much, it may be a problem.”

In the interview for Le Parisien, Caumes was asked what he thought of the situation in England, where two days after the first vaccination campaign the authorities issued an emergency recommendation asking persons with severe allergies not to take the vaccine, after two patients suffered severe adverse effects. “I am surprised, because these adverse reactions are not listed in the document of the American medicines agency, which is my only source,” he said. “That confirms that we should not be in a hurry.”

Caumes’s statement is significant because he, as a doctor and university professor, cannot be suspected of failing to support the French government’s management of the pandemic. He merely maintains that the Pfizer RNA vaccine is not safe.

“My chief concern now is that things could go badly with these vaccines. We shall then be criticised for having skipped stages, we shall be told: you were naive and you paid dearly for these doses without knowing whether they are safe. If we are mistaken, the whole history of vaccinology will be discredited. Today we have the impression that we must choose whose side to be on. But not everything is black or white, it may be grey”, the French doctor concluded.”
