The Merging of the Elections, and the Feudalisation
On the “Merging” of the elections, on the ossification of the system of power, and on how 45% of Romania’s population has been thrown back into feudalism.
Long live the Feudal State of Securistan!
The merging of the elections — “a phrase by them invented, that with its power they might bend you to the yoke” — might be the paraphrase that attempts to sum up the gravity of the situation. Certainly, the merger has been commented upon in every possible way; only I have not yet seen an analysis with a zoom-out wide enough to take in the general disaster this measure will bring. Let us try to make one together, in as few words as possible.
Certainly, the merger is a measure favouring above all the parties in power, the #CoalitionOfTreason (as I have called them for years), PSD–PNL, but also all the parliamentary parties. Access to Parliament has been barred to outsiders — since yesterday that is clear! For in fact the measure of merging is a “game over” for all social movements and small parties, more or less “sovereigntist”; by this measure the AUR party is “set in concrete” somewhere between 20% and 30% and is “officially” crowned as the sole “recognised and accepted” representative of the “opposition” in Romania. This percentage appears to be satisfactory and accepted by all the parties seated at the gaming table, by all the sides of the power-and-opposition game who are already accepted as part of the already ossified system of power in Romania.
But this ossification of the system of power is not the gravest effect of the merger.
It is the feudalisation of Romania!
Once the European parliamentary elections (elections of high symbolic charge, but of reduced relevance in the real game of power at European level, a relevance commensurate with the importance of the Parliament in the architecture of the EU) are merged with the local elections, the petty squires of the villages and communes have acquired relevance in the game of power not only at the central national level but at the European level. And this will increase not only the power and influence they will have over political decisions at the centre, but also… the impunity for the discretionary, if not indeed abusive, conduct and decisions of Romania’s mayors (only someone with no connection whatever to the Romanian village fails to understand this)!
And thus the little squires of the villages leap, on the occasion of the merger, to the rank of baron or petty baron.
As for the heads of the county councils, who are still called “local barons” — true chiefs over the packs of squires in the town halls of the communes of the fatherland, themselves become barons — they have on the occasion of the “merger” been raised in “noble” rank and in importance: they have become true grandees! The former local barons (unjustly placed even in the past at this entry level of the “noble” hierarchy) have passed straight to the rank of counts or even of marquises; these forty-one counts and marquises are the persons holding the greatest political power in Romania after the President — the “Head of State” — true Kings in office with ten-year mandates…
The Marquises Flutur of Suceava or Bolojan of Bihor, or the Counts Borboly of Harghita, Tișe of Cluj or Dumitrescu of Prahova (in his seat until only yesterday) — all of these have incomparably more power than any of the country’s “members of parliament” or “members of the European parliament”, the little “council boyars” having in practice a merely decorative role and being most often appointed and controlled by the Marquises and Counts of the county councils, or even by the barons and squires of the town halls — but certainly by the Dukes of the System.
Are you smiling? Do the comparisons seem far-fetched?
They ought not to. Perhaps you would smile less if we replaced the noble titles with ranks… as was done by the Organic Statute, which assimilated the nobility to the ranks of the army and conferred them automatically upon all the servants of the state… then you will find that we are in a truly militarised state… one that needs only the pretext of a war (oops… was that not what our betters were talking about in the Supreme Council of Defence only yesterday?).
Of course, it is all a coincidence!
What remains certain is that the poverty and underdevelopment of the Romanian of the villages and of the slums, the lack of education and the programmatic stupefying of at least 45% of Romania’s population, is the direct result of this state of affairs. This whole galaxy of marquises, counts, barons, Hungarian counts and local squires draws its power and bases its whole political force upon the materially and intellectually impoverished population — most often terrorised and blackmailed — of the Romanian villages and slums: the people, the serfdom living on their fiefs. The intellectual and material underdevelopment of the peasants is the sole electoral engine of the “political nobility”; indeed it is Romania’s sole electoral engine, an engine upon which the apparent summit of the political establishment also rests — parliamentarians, ministers and presidents, grotesque stage-props of a self-styled democratic regime.
Does anyone raise his head in any village in Romania, does anyone utter a word? He is left without social assistance, or without his subsidy; or, if he is an entrepreneur, he is trampled by waves of inspections of every kind from all the central authorities (well, the services and good offices of the barons and counts must be rewarded from the highest level, all the more so since only thus is power preserved, the social status quo), waves of inspections on the part of the state system controlled by… the Grand Dukes of the System, the one and only true upper crust of Romania.
And here the System steps in… the one that is in all things and everywhere, the one that upholds and maintains the balance of power, the one that controls and punishes those who control us and who punish us (see the case of Count Dumitrescu of Prahova!).
Should anyone else dare, even from outside the game, to raise his voice somewhere… he will surely end up in the dungeons of the System! It is a matter of time; “grounds” will be found! Only that with us the Bastille will not fall!
How did we come to be discussing squires, barons, counts and marquises in the Romania of the twenty-first century?
Why, from the “merger”! For the “merger” means nothing other than the merging of the interests of the local nobility with those of the European petty bourgeoisie, of the little play-actors who, for a stipend of some 20,000 euros a month, will mime democracy in a stage-prop institution called the Parliament — which, as is known, has no legislative role at EU level and serves only to make more easily swallowed the bitter pills sent from the centre, from the imperial capital, by the suzerains and sovereigns of the civilised World.
It means the merging, in poverty, stupidity and terror, of the greater part of the population of the villages and of the city slums (do not imagine that we have no squires and counts in the towns as well!); it means the freezing of a state of squalor whose effect will be… depopulation, the mass migration of those who will not accept their role as serfs on the political estates of one man or another. Whence the reduction of the population to the segment of the state-assisted… whence still more power (in squalor, and generating squalor) for our “noble” rulers and for the System that controls and protects them!
And so, in this equation, what “extremism” was the Prime Minister of Romania speaking of — that great *postelnic* of the Feudal State of Securistan, sometimes also called Romania? What is this “extremism” of which we hear from “the highest level” (do you realise the state we are in, if that is the highest level in Romania?!?) — what is it, and against whom is Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu fighting, himself a former petty squire of Buzău?
Why, “extreme” are the ideas; “extreme” are these words and these observations, which must not be uttered in Parliament or, God forbid, at Victoria Palace. Words that must be smothered and hidden… because they are indeed extreme… extremely true, painfully true!
These ideas and these words must remain in the underground of the internet, read in haste and never shared or published… because they are dangerous ideas, extremist, subversive for them and for the system of feudal power in Romania!
Have you read this far!?
Forget everything I have told you… and perhaps you will manage to remain happy and optimistic!
