Eminescu’s Day: a Question

Today is that day on which I still ask myself: was Eminescu born for the Romanian people, or the Romanian people for Eminescu?

In order to find an answer to this question, one thing alone is certain: we have a duty to keep alive the language in which he wrote! And perhaps, one day, another Eminescu will give us the right answer as well.

Many happy returns, Romanian, on the day of your culture, the one thing that nobody will ever be able to take from you… unless you yourself give it up!

May you live for ever in us, Eminescu, in our souls and in our memory!
