“The Greatest Hoax in History”
“The greatest swindle / hoax / deception in the history of mankind! Apollo 11 never landed on the Moon!
Three days before the death of the legendary director Stanley Kubrick, he gave his last interview to a fellow director named T. Patrick Murray. Murray was somewhat taken aback that Kubrick accepted his offer of an interview, given the director’s constant refusal to deal with the press in his last years. This confusion only grew when he was asked to sign an eighty-eight-page confidentiality agreement obliging him not to make the content of the interview public until fifteen years after Kubrick’s death. Bewildered, but extremely excited at the opportunity of a conversation with the great director, Murray went ahead with the interview. What he discovered has the potential to be the greatest scandal in the modern history of America, and not only.
Kubrick said plainly that he had accepted the interview with a very precise purpose. He knew he was near death and wished to unburden himself of something monumental before he died. Almost as soon as he had sat down, he began telling the astonished interviewer that the Moon landing was faked and that he himself had been the director responsible for the filming. “I perpetrated a huge fraud on the American public, which I am now about to detail, involving the United States government and NASA, that the moon landings were faked, that the moon landings ALL were faked, and that I was the person who filmed it,” he said.
Kubrick claims he was approached by government agents to fake the Moon landing during President Nixon’s administration. He stated that his reasons for engaging in this project had nothing to do with noble intentions of securing American supremacy in the space race with the Soviet Union, but were far pettier than that. He said he was incredibly flattered to have been selected from among all the great directors who were his contemporaries, and the appeal to his vanity, together with the bribe he claims to have received, were enough to persuade him to go through with the controversial project.
Kubrick stated that at the time he regarded the production in much the same way as all his other films. Nevertheless, after a long period of reflection upon his involvement in the project, he wished to confess. “I always was conflicted by it, but not consciously until years later. I was just shattered by the chance, by the opportunity, by the challenge of doing this, this production, and I went into this project as if it were an ordinary film, like another ordinary film of mine, without thinking too much about the long-term effects of what it would mean to society if it were ever discovered,” he told Murray.
Of course, rumours circulate on the Internet that the person shown in the video recording is only an actor and that this is not the real Stanley Kubrick. The actor’s name is said to be Tom. But nobody gives his full name. If it were an actor (another person), then it would be as well for us to know his other roles or at least his full name. Has anyone compared the photographs?”
