French Students Take to the Streets

In France hundreds of thousands of young people and students are protesting against the raising of the pension age. Although they are young, they have understood that they will inevitably grow old and will be affected in some years by the raising of the pension age.

With us… the young believe they will remain “eternally” “young, beautiful and free”. They do not care. They defiantly throw small change at pensioners.

Probably that is why we are as we are and where we are.

Probably that is why we still have to wait before we become a people and not a population.

That is why we are only an aged population and remain still a people too young to understand what its legitimate interests are.

Solidarity, empathy and lucidity might be the “recipe” of our coming of age, the Way to become a people and not a population.
